Opening a villa & hut store set in a beautiful 17th century barn in April 08, closely followed by a second outlet in Godalming Town Centre in the November, was a new venture for Martin & Beverley.  The actual concept of 'villa & hut' was co-founded by Beverleys brother Nigel & his wife Jacky back in 1999 out in Australia where the name villa & hut nowadays is known for it's eco-friendly ethos and fairtrade.

This distinctive and unrivalled mix of homewares from far-reaching and exotic locations come together in a retail environment that immediately reminds you of both travels experienced and those yet to be accomplished. The owners of Villa & Hut pride themselves in dealing directly with the crafts people and villages ensuring fair trade, fair prices and first rate quality.

Whether it be the use of recycled or plantation grown timbers for its furniture, natural fibres for its lamps or placemats, hand woven fabrics for its cushions or floor mats, or sculptured ceramics and pottery made in the same traditional ways as handed down over the centuries, every item meets the highest standards achievable in both quality and ethical commerce & trade.

Villa & Hut manufacture and source in excess of 95% of the products in their stores. Both Nigel and Jacky (Beverley's brother and his wife) spend approximately nine months of the year travelling throughout Asia and the archipelago buying products direct from the villages.
